Twelve displays bring the history of Bulls and the district to life, from the general store and everyday local life to wartime stories, horses and treasured items donated by a local family.

The stables are available to view by appointment, with the rest of the museum open during regular hours.

FARMING
Discover Bulls' farming history through milking machines, butter churns and the story of the Rangitīkei Dairy Company.
DOMESTIC LIFE
Explore life in the home, featuring Lady Annie’s wheelchair, two historic organs and a silk drape from Beccles.
COMMUNICATIONS
See the original Ericsson switchboard from the Bulls telephone exchange, which opened on 18 September 1905.
TRANSPORT
Explore early transport with historic licence plates, petrol cans, gigs and carriages. Open by appointment.
MILITARY
Discover the stories of local servicemen through portraits, records and the history of the district’s Mounted Rifles.
MOTORSPORT
Discover the story of Chris Amon, from winning Le Mans with Bruce McLaren in 1966 to his years racing for Ferrari.
WAR HORSES
Discover the story of Bess, one of only four New Zealand horses to return home after the First World War.
FARM SCHOOL
Discover Flock House, established for the children of British seamen lost in the First World War.

Much of the collection was donated by local families because someone thought it was worth preserving — with volunteers often able to share the story behind each piece.
